By building your own wearables you will understand the fundamentals of Electronics and Programming, utilize microcontrollers and sensors to create wearable interactive devices, and understand how technology is integrated into everyday objects.

This educational package is an excellent suggestion for a skills workshop for high school students. Through 9 STEM activities your students will explore the exciting possibilities of technology in a fun way. They will explore electronics, programming and wireless technologies, with an emphasis on creativity and innovation. Through the activities, collaborative work and communication are developed. Your students learn to communicate their ideas effectively and contribute to problem solving in group projects.

The activities are divided in the following sections:

  1. Iron Woman

Build a glove with a touch sensor and RGB LED that is activated by touch, and transform into a little “superhero”!

  1. Matching Colours

Upgrade the glove with a colour sensor – the LED changes according to the environment, for a strikingly interactive effect.

  1. Making Things Blink

Create a bright hat with “dancing” LEDs and introduce programming concepts such as random selection and parallel programs.

  1. Sun Protector

Make a bracelet with a light sensor that warns of sun exposure!

  1. Move it!

Build a digital clock with an alarm and countdown timer – perfect for an introduction to programming basics.

  1. Pictures at your Fingertips

Extend the clock to display messages on the screen.

  1. Secret Messages

The watch becomes capable of sending/receiving messages via radio waves – an introduction to wireless communication.

  1. Bagsecure

Convert a school bag into a motion sensor security system – introducing technology into everyday life!

  1. Custom Bag

Creating a personalized “smart” bag, with functionality and personal style – imagination, skills and creativity!
