Description
Bilharzia, also known as Schistosmiasis or snail fever, is a parasitic disease caused by fluke in the genus Schistosoma. The disease has a low mortality rate but is a chronic one, that can damage internal organs and, in children, cognitive development and impair growth. The disease is common in developing countries in areas with lots of fresh water snails which carry the fluke during part of their life cycle. This oversized anatomical chart illustrates Bilharzia in graphic detail. The anatomy chart is a great educational tool to explain the life cycle and effects of the disease. The Bilharzia poster is delivered with rods for easy display in a classroom or doctor’ s office.Size 84x118cm
