What is a fracture?

A fracture is a fracture of a bone or cartilage. It is usually the result of an injury. It can, however, be the result of bone disease leading to its weakening, such as osteoporosis, or abnormal bone formation from congenital diseases at birth, such as imperfect osteogenesis (osteogenesis imperfecta).

A fracture generally causes pain. Swelling, tenderness, discoloration, and inability to move the affected part of the body are common. Deformity of the limb that has suffered the fracture is sometimes observed. The location and severity of the fracture determine the symptoms and signs of the disease. A cracked fracture is also called a fracture.

The size, location and number of incisions depends on the type of surgery.

What is a burn?

A burn is a type of injury to the flesh or skin caused by heat, electricity, chemicals, or radiation. [1] Burns that affect only the superficial skin are known as superficial or first degree burns. When damage penetrates one of the underlying layers, then we say that we have a – deep – partial thickness burn or second degree burn. In a -total -burn or third-degree burn, the injury extends to all layers of the skin. A fourth-degree burn additionally involves injury to deeper tissues, such as muscles or bones.

The treatment required depends on the severity of the burn. Superficial burns can only be treated with simple pain analgesics, while severe burns may require prolonged treatment at specialized burn rehabilitation centers.

What is amputation?

Amputation is the traumatic or iatrogenic (surgical) cutting of a limb or part of the body from the rest of the body. The first case is called Traumatic Amputation and the second is called Therapeutic Surgical Amputation [1]. In addition to these two forms, there are other forms of amputation that have a rather social background, we symbolically call them social amputations and they have a criminal and legal character.
