The Educational package “The “War” of Currents: Edison vs Tesla” is a complete skills workshop that can be used to study physical phenomena from electricity to electromagnetism.

You will carry out experiments with static electricity and stored charge(capacitors), learn how direct and alternating current flows, discover the principles of electromagnetism and, with the help of the micro:bit, make digital measurements of physical quantities, gaining a clear picture of how electricity is generated, transported and used today.

Through this interactive journey, even the most abstract concepts-electric charge, current flow, resistance-come alive in a playful way, fostering natural curiosity and creative spirit.

The educational package includes:

• All the electrical consumables you need to carry out the activities (such as cables, capacitors, resistors, magnets)

The activities are divided into the following sections:

1. Static electricity
   • Through various constructions you will learn about the different types of electric charge and the different ways of charging (friction, induction).
2. Electrostatic motor
   • Through various constructions you will understand the nature of static electricity, the effects of electrical charging and the ways of discharging.
3. Capacitor
   • You will build your first capacitor by learning how electricity is stored.
4. Battery
   • You will build your first battery by understanding the operating principles of normal and rechargeable batteries.
5. Hot Pencils
   • By constructing a ‘special’ closed circuit you will understand the resistance dependence of a conductor on factors such as its geometric dimensions.
6. Lamp
   • You will build your first lamp, thus understanding the concept of electricity and its thermal effects.
7. Electromagnet
   • By making your first electromagnet you will discover the complementarity of the concepts of electricity and magnetism.
8. Electric motor
   • Through the construction of a magnetic motor you will find out practically how the concepts of electricity and magnetism are unified.
9. Electrogenerator
   • By building your first AC generator you will understand the ultimate integration of electricity and magnetism through the production of alternating current.
